What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

I made the mistake of following one of my favorite potters on Instagram... bought 2 more Denise Soultanian pots. The pictures don't do them justice, the glazes on both are fantastic. Please please please someone else go buy her pots so I can't buy any more 😂
They are very nice! I'm going to try and help you out! 😁

My chojubai from Bob Pressler finally arrived!

Well packed

I’m pretty psyched for some winter blossoms!

Yep, pot is already wired down for the impending hurricane tomorrow… here’s hoping my garden doesn’t get completely wrecked.

Yeah, it would be nice if they had the biodegradable ones. I’ll recycle them though and at least keep it out of the “single use” category. That said the peanuts did their job, there was no damage to the tree at all. Besides the polystyrene peanuts it was incredibly well packed. The pot was quite literally wired to the bottom of the box.

I put everything on the ground today (and tied the kid's trampoline to a couple trees). Looking like up to 50mph winds here on the coast.

I’m not sure what the forecasted gusts are out here but I’ll take the perks of not being on the coast anymore when I can get them😅

Yesterday a chojubai and today a trident! This was an eBay purchase, my first to be honest as I was a bit hesitant to purchase plants there. The seller was Bonsailife and they seem to have nicely developed starter/raw material. The initial photos posted for the tree were not very informative.

I asked for other images and they were happily forthcoming. This is one of them.

The tree was very well packed and arrived in a few days (shipping was included in the purchase price and I received a discount at the time of sale, not sure where that came from but it was a nice surprise). I found the little tree to be even better in person.

I was looking to start a sumo shohin trident and this is the perfect jumpstart on that project. The taper is amazing for such a small tree and what I have uncovered of the nebari is excellent. The only downside is that the biggest chop wound is very predominant on my chosen front but I expect it will heal well over time. It will go in a proper training pot come spring for some branch development and further chop scar healing.

The price seemed competitive for what I’m seeing out there and I’d have no issue at all suggesting others check them out.

Tokoname t-shirt. Shirt has a list of the "chop" marks of Tokoname bonsai potter use (or used). Back says "Tokoname" in Kanji (or at least that's what Google translate says--could say "this guy's an idiot." who knows.

I haven't open the box yet, but I received these two post from Matt O last night. I am seriously lacking on unglazed, rectangle, and oval pots. It's time to stock up with several trees nearing the stage where they will be moved to pots.

Look for this one:

蹴 could say "kick me"...

The back of the shirt--I ran it through Google images and translate and pics of teapots came up. Tokoname tea pots are one of the top products that kiln produces...so it might say "I'm a little teapot..." or "Tokoname." 😁
