What pine is easiest for a newbie?

350000 Japanese yen = 4411.9600 US dollars

That seems like a fairly reasonable price... doesn't it?

Depending on it's size, it is... but I have to confess it's a bit too Jabba-the-Hut for me in it's trunk line. Not that I'd kick it out of the garden... lol That crown is so perfect it's dieing to be messed up. :D

LOL.. Cheap and reasonable is all relative.

For me it is a no go...even if I have the money to spend (which I don't). This is way expensive and already "done". I want to make my own bonsai and I am a cheapskate. ;) LOL
Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Way out of my price range. Additionally, the tree is being sold in Japan, so you'd have the added expense of quarantining the tree...if you're into that sorta thing. ;)

My Mugo pine has been really hearty so far. I paid around 5 dollars for it from regular nursery stock and it was the first tree i repotted and styled. The black pine would be my first recommendation because of what you can get out of it. But if you are not looking to spend as much Mugo's are a good option
