What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

Ordered a bag of the EcoTraction Pro the other day. Should be arriving by FedEx tomorrow or Monday. Can't order direct from the brand it looks like, unless you're doing municipal scale stuff. Found various online retailers for small scale purchases, though, but I already have a Walmart account.

Went with the Pro because of the larger particle size. Not the cheapest stuff. Might hunt around for other sources if it proves good.
Once it's here I'll repot a couple of my rooted cuttings, and start a thread for those interested.

Bought some bench tops to increase the height of my short benches to prevent my 4 legged pruners from pruning. Should be here in a couple of weeks.

And a couple of new plastic chairs for the deck when I want to do work on my trees out there. Lastly 2 plastic Adirondack chairs when I want to sit out there and relax with my mini trees
Just last weekend . I finally found Adirondack chairs . To add to the ones I got 15 years ago . Key is to get them un assembled in a box . ( can’t take a fully assembled chair to cottage ) they need assemble and stain out of pine major score . Used to be everywhere not know

Yes these are unassembled but they are made of the plastic wood. I wanted to give them a try. They don't need paint and shouldn't rot so less maintenance. The 2 straight back chairs I got have a 20 year warranty. If they last that long, I'll be good

Count me as interested. Can't hurt to experiment a little

10 1cubic foot bags composted pine mulch . 2 bags of oil absorbent . 2x 6 gallon thuja cultivar primo . 2 x 1/2 gallon tsuga Canadensis cultivar Betty rose . Cpm I use in my soil mix. I like to buy it 1 year in advance to allow it to . Ferment sone more . The absorbent is new brand . It states it’s at least partial DE . It’s been difficult to source since Covid . Supply issue since. Covid . There is lack of consistency in what you get . They bag whatever they can get . 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ The trees the thuja was ordered last year . Bottom line nicest tightest foiling cultivar out there . Plan is bonsai in there own right some day . And grafting stock for wild collected trees . The 2 small tsuga I have one from last year . They put a pretty good argument up for the slowest growing Canadensis but they also have the smallest tightest foliage I have ever come across thinking . A mame sized forest sone day

There is actually a argument over the origin of the chair . Americans call it a Adirondack. Chair . For the region of northern NY state . Canadians call it a Maskoka chair for the region of cottage country north of . Toronto . Both areas have actual
History of someone first building it . Whoever is right don’t matter to me great simple Comfy design . What most don’t realize right away is the best part . The wide flat arm rest for a drink on one side and a plate of food on the other 👍👍.

Yea I don't care if they call them dog shit. They are nice to sit in and relax

Prunus maritima to grow out/try out, and a couple pitch pines from a local native plant sale.

I got these 3 last year with the intent of replicating an aerial view of hinoki cypress trees.
So far I haven't really tried, but not confident I will be able to do that.
We had a 40 foot hinoki in our yard growing up, and I've seen them at a waterfall somewhere.
At least the ones I'm referring to have a circular layered look that is incredible.
Dwarf Tsuga I got are quite happy in pond baskets.

So are they Hinoki or dwarf thuja .

Well I thought I was done with this thread, but I guess you never are...........
Always had a passion for Japanese White Pine and had a few but didn't realize there were so many cultivars available. Just got these 5 today. Kinpo, Miyoi, Bonny, Kobe and Akai Ashi Goyo
BTW, these all have very low grafts and while my intent was just to have more JWP, there is a future bonsai or two in here.
