and you are their sales representative?

I find organic such an odd term. From a biochemical perspective it makes little sense :)

Fair enough.

The term "organic" doesn't make sense when referring to biochemicals in the scientific context. In chemistry, "organic" specifically refers to compounds containing carbon, regardless of their origin. Biochemicals are simply molecules involved in biological processes, many of which are indeed organic.

Here's why the term "organic" doesn't work in this case:
  • "Organic" in Chemistry:
The term "organic" in chemistry has a very specific meaning, referring to compounds containing carbon. This definition encompasses almost all molecules found in living organisms.

  • Biochemicals:
Biochemicals are simply molecules that play a role in living organisms. They can be organic (containing carbon) or inorganic (not containing carbon).

  • Confusion with the "Organic" Label:
The "organic" label on food products refers to farming practices and production methods, not the chemical composition of the food itself. It's a marketing term, not a scientific descriptor.
Therefore, while biochemicals are often organic in the chemical sense, using the term "organic" to describe them is redundant and could be confusing. It's more appropriate to simply refer to them as biochemicals.

Is it farm raised seaweed? I don't understand how that label would work for wild harvested seaweed.

One azalea infested with lace bugs and also potted in clay...
And a shimpaku. Seller thought it was Itoigawa but I am not sure about that...

This is the foliage. Looks like straight shimpaku to me.

Satsuki azalea at Lowes?
I was given a recognition award at work- $25 (hoping it has no reflection on my real worth), so, while looking at the redeem options I did not see anything more desirable than a Lawes gift card.
And as it was burning a hole in pocket, I went today... By the gardening section entrance I see azaleas with white, pink and mottled flowers, just had to stop and take a closer look...

So I got me one.
They had them in full sun and bone dry. Chased down the watering man and asked him to water the one I picked.
Here is the range of flower colors

Getsutoku is made up japanese-y word, but it is a sutsuki hybrid.
Lucky find.

I just received this 4 year old chojubai red flower cutting that the mother plant it's off of is supposedly from cuttings off of Michael Hagedorn's tree from Left coast bonsai. It's not as full as I thought it would be. I wanted more branching down low not long straight branch with everything at the end. It's my first purchase from them. It didn't fair too well in shipping. It lost alot of its leaves and alot more are yellowing. It happened that this week that it was in transit was very hot in the mid to upper 80's already. The soil had dried out and wasn't much soil in the pot. The packaging wasn't as good as from other nurseries. Was in box wrapped in brown paper the pot had a piece of brown paper balled up on top of soil and whole pot wrapped in shrink wrap.20250606_113222.jpg20250606_113000.jpg20250606_113527_HDR.jpg20250606_113545_HDR.jpg
