What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

This book is the absolute best book on forest bonsai out there. It’s long out of print. Imagine my surprise when I read actors a STACK of them for sale at the Potomac Bonsai Show. National Bonsai Foundation selling them😳😳😁😁👍👍

Not a purchase but I was just gifted this pot from my wife’s friend. Anyone recognize the chop/signature? I know we have a few peeps very knowledgeable in the pot universe, is there a thread on here to ask about pot IDs? Anyway… nice little pot but I know nothing about it. From the pattern on the bottom it looks as though it might be slip cast or some similar type of construction.

16 restaurant bus tubs to get my BCs ready for moving in July. I will be moving BCs from big pots to these tubs.
Feel free to drop off a bunch if you pass through Kentucky. I'll help lighten the load. 😆

Looks like Slip cast Production quality Japanese to me. Nice little inexpensive pot. There are a few thread here to ID pots however the best ID sites:

There is also a group on Facebook dedicated to ID ing bonsai pot chops.

Satsuki azalea at Lowes?
I was given a recognition award at work- $25 (hoping it has no reflection on my real worth), so, while looking at the redeem options I did not see anything more desirable than a Lawes gift card.
And as it was burning a hole in pocket, I went today... By the gardening section entrance I see azaleas with white, pink and mottled flowers, just had to stop and take a closer look...

So I got me one.
They had them in full sun and bone dry. Chased down the watering man and asked him to water the one I picked.
Here is the range of flower colors

Getsutoku is made up japanese-y word, but it is a sutsuki hybrid.

Today I visited 3 nurseries ending up buying a Japanese Red Pine (Pinus Densiflora) with a lateral trunk line and a Gold Juniper ( Gold coast probably) (two trees in one pot).

I don't know whether every beginner is like me, but getting out of a nursery without buying anything is really a challange, even if the material is worthless. 🙄🙄🙄

I was absolutely like that, and still am at times. If you don't buy anything, especially if you went out of your way to go to the nursery, then it feels like a wasted trip.

Eventually you come to the realization that you can't give each tree the time it needs and you start doing the regular seasonal work on the trees you have leaving no time for going to the nursery.

Ive been buying this Seaweed product for years now, and new Secateurs.

This certification ensures that the products meet rigorous organic standards, including sustainable harvesting and the absence of chemical additives.
