One more landscape yew

"three year cycles." from the article...

Well....this just proves @fredman and others belief of spirit bonsai.

Observation, and feelings, is what I was basing 2 years on, and it's actually 3.

Yew have a nice tree there, Such a long thread and glad to see the tree still going strong!

I love this image. The live vein in the crevice of the deadwood gives a nice, aged look to the tree. The fact that the live vein is mature and has filled in around the deadwood really makes the tree look awesome and feels very natural to me.
The live veins on yews really seem to plump up over just a few years. Some day, this one will end up in a show...I hope...and the deadwood will be lime sulfured and the new cinnamon colored bark exposed...should look pretty nice.

Good-looking tree, and the trunk character is amazing! You feel as if you could read a century's worth of history from it. :)

As a yew enthusiast myself, I'm always looking to learn more about them. Thanks for making the story of this tree available.

More akadama roots! This was one of my first trees to make the switch into akadama based soil… I think the results speak for themselves. This one has had a few years off from styling. This one will get a cut back mid summer and will get wired out again this fall.
