My bonsai reality

It took a long time to set up the watering systems for my trees. I now have 8 zones for the trees. 1/3 of the water heads installed last year had to be replaced. The heads were made with cheap plastic. They crumbled due to UV exposure in just 1 year!

I am ready to go see my angels early tomorrow morning.

PS: The Orbit 4 outlet BHyve hose end timers are not durable at all! In the 2 timers I had, half of the valves stopped working after just 1 year in service.

I need honest answers from the regulars here.
As I walk among the 200 BCs that I have this morning, I am thinking that I have a handful of trees that are just a year away from being in proper pots and displayed at club shows, not to be in contest but to show people what BC bonsai look like. Am I really at that level yet? Y’all have seen my work. Now tell me. Sure I will always enjoy my trees privately but if I want to share with others, I would like to know if I am ready.

There are no BC in the northeast shows. I dont believe there were any at MABS and ive never seen them at the recent club shows. It would be amazing to see them here. Id be happy to help as well. Come July if you need a hand with anything, let me know. I often am just north of Philly for work and would LOVE to spend an afternoon. My sis also lives just outside philly.

The plan is to chop a lot of the trees branches and spray heavily with wilt proof 2 days before transport. Watering is also ceased to improve maneuverability of the pots.

Any suggestions as to how I can facilitate moving the trees in large mortar tubs? I have 8 of those to deal with.

My first thoughts were dolly and moving straps. The straps can handle hundreds of pounds I once moved a really old and heavy stove out of the house with a buddy using the straps. It was well over 200 lbs.

I would set them on pallets and tie them down with ratchet straps. You can box em in with 2x2s screwed down for extra stability. Once the pallets are in the moving van, they shouldnt move.

Get some now and try on one tree to ensure they do not mind the stuff (Unless you have already of course).

Do you have a place where you can keep these when you arrive?
Unwelcome thought.. This might also be a great time to downsize and only take your top 50 or so...

I have used the stuff on collected trees, trees I shipped etc. without ill side effect.

When they arrive I have a large backyard for them.

After two years of thinking it through, the downsize will be gradual.
