R.I.P. Teunis Jan Klein / Deshima Bonsai

heel erg verdrietig nieuws…😔 ik ga de lessen, zijn expertise en vooral hem als mens erg missen.

So sad... I big loss in the Dutch, and International bonsaiworld....😞

Deepest heartfelt condolences to you and those who will feel his void. Sadly...I've not heard of him. But that doesn't mean his loss isn't felt by myself. Ones which were a huge movement in our hobby...hit us all. I hate hearing of his passing.

So sad, he was a young man. RIP.

Condolences. Not real familiar with his work but have heard the name. Tragic loss of such a young rising star.

He was one of the silent forces. He had been doing bonsai since he was a kid, started a bonsai store at a young age, and the last decade or so ran a nursery from an old school. Every day of the week there workshops etcetc. No extensive stage sessions for him, but rather sharing in smaller groups. And at most years he would have trees in the bonsa Trophy.

Very sad -- what a loss for the bonsai community at large.

I remember listening to this Mirai Podcast where Ryan interviewed him and I came away from it thinking he really was one of the bonsai leaders in Europe, although maybe not as visible as others.

Being from across the pond, I also was not aware of him but it is always sad to hear of the passing of one of our small community

Rest in peace Teunis Jan Klein.
I really don't know much about you but our bonsai community will surely miss anyone who shares the passion and knowledge about bonsai to others like you did.

What a loss! I was fortunate to have interacted with him on the old IBC forum more than 20 years ago. Always a class act!

Deeply saddened by the news. My condolences to the family. A truly gifted artist with a kind and generous soul. He left a lasting and indelible mark in the bonsai world. He will forever be remembered.

I'm shocked. As a deciduous head he was one of my favourite artists, I will remember that video of him showing esoteric trunk thickening techniques with a pair of scissors.

Rest in peace.

Damn.. That's terrible. Just 51 years of age. I remember him personally signing a thank you card when I ordered a pot.. He will be missed.

My daughter-in-law went there before Christmas and bought 3 pots from him for me for Christmas...
