FedEx strikes again but the Mighty Black Oak emerges victoriously!

You'll have to come by the new place and kind of check it out so we can see what location would be best. I'll barbecue:)
The little get together we had on Saturday was fun to bad you couldn't make it. We were talking about doing it again but at a different persons house each time. Could be fun!

I'm down! Hopefully I'll have my new house organized and together within the next couple of weeks and we could do it over here.

Believe it or not eBay:) The seller got it directly from Roy Nagatoshi.

Yes it sure does look like it's from Roy!

Hey, @abqjoe , that's a beautiful tree.
My brudda' went to visit some kin-folk out in LA last year and visited Roy's nursery. He bought a cork-bark oak and had it shipped "up-north". He overwintered in a "root-cellar" type area and doesn't seem to be doing well. Not as vigorous as it "could-should" be. Fairly experienced growers, if he might be a little ambitious. It's not really a tree capable of thriving here without really experienced, difficult to replicate, environmental conditions. You have an "experience" in front of you!:D

And, yes, he's going back to visit his "kin-folk" next year, right after he stops at Roy's!!! And get something a little more zone=appropriate......

psst.....I think he will just be saving up some funds and get something crazy!!!!;) I killed a Pin Oak a couple years ago that was getting some small leaves, froze so solid I could not thaw it until June!!
Gave it some inexperienced winter protection. But who can predict freezinf temps in April, May?

Way to common here. It'll be 68 one day then, BOOM, 27 over night lol
Wish I could live somewhere more predictable like central cali, or oregon.

Or Illinois, NOT :(
