I know I asked about this in the past but I didnt get any solid answers. Has anyone figured out how to get specifically the Washington Hawthorne to flower again. Mine already has the age. It gets fed and has enough sun. Its the way Im pruning that must be wrong. I did read that other guys note on getting hawthorne to flower by trimming back shoots just as they harden in spring and allowing the rest of the shoots to grow thru summer. and have been doing this but its still not working.

Dennis Vojtilla's hawthorn finally fruited this year, the first time in perhaps 30+ years. He does not fertilize much at all, but allowed the tree to expand over the last 3 years to a slightly larger silhouette. I think it needs to be a big tree with forward momentum to flower. We will see if this tree flowers more in 2026, or perhaps a different fertilizer regiment may make this tree flower more.

OMG---that is a truly epic specimen of a Washington Hawthorne. Its Stunning!!!! Can I get in touch with this Dennis Vojtilla somehow?? I dont think its my fertlizing or the amount of sun. I feel it may be my pruning technique. I Hope he sees this post and chimes in. IF you look at my Avatar that was my first Washington hawthorne I had for many mnay years. I got so frustrated I sold it off and boght another one. So now this one i have quite a number of years too. Im running out of time !!!!!
