I had this blue Yamafusa when this Pyracantha came to me years ago all broken up from a big quake so I used it but never thought it was the "right" one. I'm thinking cream or mustardy like this Ichiyo.

Umm, most of my pots are blue, I just like them. Not that bright barfy blue, but blue none the less.

I have been using blue pot for white flower such as ume. This contorted ume was recently transplanted to the Chinese blue pot.

Oddly I find the finish of the only blue pot I have to be very similar, although I am having a hard time getting a good picture -


For the record, I rarely get any ceramic pot but when I saw this one I had to have it - Thank you @sorce - in my opinion it rocks!

I've got this one by Onodera.
It's being used now by a Prunus Mume, pink flowers.

Turquoise sounds terrible, just like deep red,
and electric blue sounds much too flashy. It all depends upon context. If you have highly contorted, grotesque trees a bright or very interesting pot probably conflicts and distracts from the picture, as opposed to a pretty tree that has a pot that completes the picture. I'd bet that people who obsess about plain brown pots have a lot of gnarly trees. Nothing wrong with that.

I’m pretty sure my first glazed was a cheap Chinese blue. But I like how this thread has mutated to show off those awesome blue artisan containers!
