Corkbark JBP, 'Hachi Gen'

I bet that's a relief, great job! Now if this weather would just get cold

I am not sure if it's shape and the band on it or the color but I like this pot more. Looking good.

I got this one ready for our club's spring show in May, and managed to show short needles by removing last year's long 'uns and featuring the new spring growth. That precluded summer candle-pruning, but it was ok, since I hadn't planned on showing it again this year. Well, now it's going to be shown again this year. The needles are a bit long, but it's not too bad. Next year, it should be true shohin. Right now it's just under 9" tall and the pot is slightly too big.

I did a little tidying up and cleaned the moss off the trunk. The base isn't perfect, but it is definitely interesting.

It's works and I like it. I also agree if the needles where slightly shorter to more define the pads, and I
Like the pot despite it slightly being to deep for a show.

This is just a great little corker. In spite of its small size, it shows the geometrical patterns the Japanese desire in a cork bark pine. I know how difficult it's been to get this tree in its present shape. Really fine work, Brian.
