Colorado’s Ceramics

I like big pots and won't lie. Have you opened the kiln for the big ones yet?

I have a couple large-ish rounds that are bone dry, just need to be bisque fired!

I made a really big oval but it didn’t turn out very good.

Still getting this big ones figured out!

I recently dove into ceramics. I am quickly falling in love with the work!

I am focusing on slab building. I am starting with unglazed rectangles. I am looking forward to progressing to ovals, hexagons, and mokkos. But first I need to learn the fundamentals.

Here are my first two containers. I don’t have a kiln so once they finish drying I’ll need to find a place to fire them. Advice and/or critiques welcome! @Pitoon @sorce @HorseloverFat

very nice looking pots and really like your glazes and build on these. How big is the big red one Colorado? Maybe fit one of my conifers??

@August44 I’ve got a couple pretty big rounds in that same clay that I was going to message you about after I fire them! Should be able to get them fired in the next couple of weeks.

Porcelain is fun but be careful not to contaminate you workspace. Porcelain doesn't play well with other clays.

Yeah, it was a pain having to clean all my tools, workbench, etc.

I also made a few porcelain dinner plates that didn’t turn out that good, but I’m going to try again because my wife wants pasta bowls 😃
