I figured I'd start a thread on this tree I am picking up tomorrow to document its progress. I have never been drawn in by an unworked tree like I have been by this one. Been wanting a really nice bunjin for a while. Going to be working on getting this tree healthy next year and go from there.

Wow, that's quite a trunk. Little to beefy to be considered a bunjin IMHO.
Love the front in last pic against the car door!
Not sure what style it would fall into, other than not being slender It has all the other characteristics of a bunjin. Guess it doesn't really matter though, gotta get some vigor back into it, doesn't appear to have pushed much growth, but has tons of back budding.

Nice ! That got everything to make something pretty from.
What other trees did you end up getting "extra" ?

I'll pm ya as to not clog up this thread with a ton of photos lol.

Lookin good! I love how CBS are so eager to back bud.
Me too! Glad it is showing vigor this year. Was definitely risky buying it in the shape it was in last year, but this tree really spoke to me more than any yamadori I've seen. It is getting fed NPK every 5 days this year.
