2016 US National Bonsai Exhibition

I can cut that in half, but you would have to fly me up and pay for lodging... Lol!

I understand fully the whole need for no photos... our Florida convention does not allow them now as well... they have started doing a book too. Which is really cool, but still doesn't change the fact that it is nice to have photos of things you have seen when you go on vacation...

Often times shows are where you see some of the latest and newest ideas of what is happening in the scene... the pushing of the envelope, so to speak... not much fresh about seeing these say 5 months later?

Right, I was just thinking of the permitted photos that always seem to show up after, blog posts and things. A video or two. Looking forward to those.
 
Amazing to think that exactly a week from now, all the trees will be set up and waiting for the grand opening Saturday morning. Just a little work to be done between now and then!
 
Well as predicted the banquet is sold out so I cant get a ticket now anyway.
My fault for being apprehensive.
 
Went to see Matthew outwinga today.

Help him get his master piece ready for the show. :).

Basically just clean it up a lot.

After that I removed the wire from some of his neglected pines. Here is nice jwp. Trunk base is about size of a softball.

Can't send pics of the show tree thou.

Sucks. Im not going to make it was definitely trying to.

In traffic A 6.5 hour drive. If it wasn't so far I was going to drive there and back 1 day. Without traffic it 4.15 but not trying to chance a 2 hour swing.

He's a maple guy. Has too many of them, too!
 
Yea he has been. I just spoke to him yesterday and he sent me a few pics of the progress at the nursery. I'll have to make it out after Nationals to see things, and help with putting away the trees for winter. Look forward to seeing all my old friends and new at the show. I'll be displaying my Korean hornbeam this time.

I think it'd be cool to go. Maybe next year. If it weren't a 7 hour drive and I didn't have another show I'm making a trip to soon...

Oh, I already have my eye on another tree. I don't really need a chojubai.

I sold a tree earlier to "make room" for another.
