Can anyone help identify what this white build up is on the trunk of my japanese black pine?

How old is that cut. Looks a little ragged.

Is the white stuff on the sap or in the bark/cambium?

I received this from an acquaintance so not sure how long ago was the cut. The white stuff seems to be in the bark. Completely dry. Is it possibly calcium build up?

Calcium would be more wide spread. The fact it is restricted to an old wound means much more likely to be sap or resin from when that chop was made. White resin from cuts on pine is very common but not a problem. Scrape it off if it worries you but will eventually disappear naturally.
