This Kentucky wisteria is always last for me (and thus every year I wonder if it's still alive). Buds broke just today, which is actually earlier than most years (it was very hot the last two weeks of April).

This is a full two months after my Chinese wisteria broke buds.

Ditto Beech, only trees I have that hasn't fully leafed out in Georgia. My tupelo just woke up too where everything else has been in full leaf for at least a month. My oaks are semi-evergreen and have just started pushing out new growth as well. Oaks and Beech are the same family so there is probably something there.

Beech followed fairly close by Oak. It’s near the end of April. Both trees are just sort of maybe kind of thinking about waking up. The trees will start to awaken but hit the snooze button for awhile yet.

My landscape crape myrtles are always the last to wake up, and still haven't. But my potted one showed buds a few weeks ago, and after a much needed repotting, it has a few new leaves.

American Beech or my oaks here in Michigan. Though - a green ash I collected last year grew vigorously last season and has yet to wake up... 🤔

Also beech for me, always gives me the creeps. Last year it started leaving out end April but this year buds are now just looking like they might start to swell.
this tree also lost all its leaves around September last year, which is very early, typhoon had something to do with that so now it’s leafless for almost 8 months... I’ll be happy when it shows green leaves again

Also beech. Fagus japonica went from buds to boom in about five days. We had our first 90+ degree day yesterday. Pics are from tonight.

I picked this up last summer, so it's my first spring with it. Watching, watching, watching ... while everything else is fully leafed out. Fun tree and definitely one of my favorites.
