When your significant other likes a "different" tree of yours than you do....

This is how the neighbour worked it out --------

They had a maid.

He gave her an account for the house and a separate account for her.
He paid the maid.

When they went abroad, he gave her money for spending.

No joint account.

They are still together, happily --------- 55 years.

Aint luv a many splendid thing.

I'm guessing he is the only income maker and she doesnt have a job?

Both my husband and I have jobs. After our combined and personal bills as well as investments for savings/retirement are taken care of, his money is his and mine is mine since we each work for it.

Very similar here. We provide financial input based on hours work. So we pay into a shared account based on eachothers income level. From that we pay all the generic bills. Personal things (Bonsai stuff, horsey stuff) we pay from our own accounts. Works well; Basically we never argue about money and spendings.

Man, I've been living wrong. All the money my wife makes is hers, all the money I make is ours. Plus, I pay every single bill. She's living the good life!
That's how we do it. I think it works out very well.

My fiance is very supportive of my hobby, an even has her favorites. The only time she gets mad is when she wakes up at 4AM and I'm doing this....View attachment 126642....yeah,I got an ear full:p:p:rolleyes:

Oh, dishwasher things... I have to wait till my wife is breathing very noisy in night to do this. If no I can hear loudly why her teenage sons get acne! Sleepless nights...

When people come on a garden tour, it's pretty common for many to fall in love with some crappy tree of mine and walk past and ignore one that is spectacular. You never know what catches someones eye. As far as my wife, I could buy an amazing tree and she would never notice. Bring home a shiny watering can or garden bell and she spots it the first time in the driveway. Lesson... buy more tree, buy less shiny decorations.
