The first day of this winter, I saw a bunch of grewia occidentalis in my usual nursery. I bought one and made the decision to heavily chop it, leaving only the main trunk and some branches. I usually don´t think too much on any operation on my trees (my climate is very forgiving) , but this time I was a bit worried, as we are in the coldest season and I have no experience with grewia. Fortunatly, today I could see it is strongly back budding.

I'm just as curious as your dog looks in the pic! Regarding your "forest"..are those Juniper's? how long did it take you to do your forest scene? Thanks in advance.

No, not junipers, but chamaecyparis thyoides. Long story short, I bought their mother 5 years ago. 4 years ago I had 20 rooted cuttings, wich I grew for almost 2 years. A year and a half ago, I assembled it. Somewhere in the forests subforum there is thread I opened for its progression...

I had to Google to find out it is commonly called Atlantic White Cedar, but also frequently called Swamp Cedar, White Cedar, or White Cypress, and sometimes False-Cypress, reflecting its native habitat in coastal swamps and its resemblance to true cedars. They are FINE LOOKING trees !

Couldn’t help myself. Neighbor is relandscaping his yard and they dug up a 10’ holly tree. I grabbed the root ball. Now I have to figure out what to do with it.

Winter has finally reached central Florida. We will see our first lite freeze tonight and see low 30s for the next week. Portable greenhouse cover for the bougies in little pots and desert roses. They can handle the cold, but not the frost on the leaves. Tropicals, cuttings and those trees that broke dormancy early all came inside for the week. We should be back up in the 70s in about a week and they can go back outside.

Day before yesterday, actually...went "down the rabbit hole" of the post-Xmas 50%-off sale of small "Living Christmas Trees", in this case a Leyland Cypress. Started wiring a Beech out.
Removed the old guy wire which has both done its job, and made it a bit tougher to change the planting angle.
Does anyone know if I cut back to small interior buds on a beech, do I have to do so across the whole tree?

Unpacked from attending our local club exhibition over the last 3 days 
i displayed 3 trees and supplied all but 4 of the live accents for the other members (prepped about 50 for about about 30 to be selected to use by other members). So it had been a busy week
