We also put down a bunch of sod.

I added scarification to that untraditional Japanese maple of mine.

I just am unsure how far you can push them with this technique. Waiting to hear from Laurent. Dropped him a line...as you can see the blue area I would like to finish on that section of trunk.

Found I have linden seedlings? Six of them.
Had to look up those cotyledons as I did not recognize them. I vaguely remember picking seed from the linden at work, but that's all...

Today I applied a piece of wire. Went a little in the rough thinning it
but any browning to follow will pay off nicely. May tidy it up a bit in July.

All my juniper have mites to some degree, even kishu, so the neem changes the bluish foliage to waxy green.
Then I thin somewhat, and the foliage is rather dull, so I am waiting to shorten the pads.

Removed moss from the trunk of my Catlin Elm, and slip potted it into this pot. Looking forward to spring so it can get some more top growth.

washing liquid + water... helps... killed them all...

Pretty sure they came in on the mulch i used overwintering my trees.

Hosing off has not been effective as the numbers of mites are the worst I've ever seen.
Rotating insecticidal soap, BioAdvanced 3 in 1 mite control, neem, hosing off and malathion when I get a new bottle. Coming under control.
It will take a while to be visually appealing.

Cleaned up this little corner by the veggie garden.. Im tossing the shelving. Going to extend the benches on the left to the garden after next paychecks come in. Need to decide layout. Will also then extend to the left on the other side of the current bench... Should be a total of 25ft of bench space. Next is a major renovation of the veggie garden... have some big plans for that.

Yesterday I met up with my bonsai gang with a welcomed appearance from the ever elusive @Leo in N E Illinois. We trimmed trees and ate food. My buddy Kevin got this photo of me doing what I do best, talking.

I worked on trimming up this magic carpet spirea that never keeps the good branches. I always say don't get attached to your branches on these but I was really attached to this branch. I hacked it back good. Now I'll fertilize the crap out of it and see how full I can get it.
