Father's Day won me some time to catch up on bonsai maintenance.
- Spruce got some tips trimmed
- Japanese mapel got a general cleaning, removing long internodes, up and down growth, and crowded crotches
- Experimenting with partial defoliation of my Oregon Myrtle
- Shortened up on branch of a juniper
- Star magnolia got a trimming and has deliciously short internodes this year.

I see that you're the one that ended up getting it. I bet on that one for awhile xD

Glad to see that it is in your hands so that I can watch it progress.

Picture tax: My squat Baobab that I chopped on the 30th due to my unhappiness with how long the internodes got from my expirement during winter. It has since backbudded and the chopped top is leafing out in a baggie filled with water.View attachment 552641View attachment 552642
I was surprised and stoked it went for the price I got it at! Pics are after working on the right side before getting forced inside by this Juneary wind. Almost 4 hours and so much left to trim.

Cut back a larch the other night. This is my daughter's tree she named "Cat Bus." This is roughly the size she wants it to be, so mostly trying to push growth back and build ramification.

I also removed wire that I applied only 6-8 weeks ago as it was already biting in pretty hard in some places.

Got my Bald Cypress and Water Jasmine. Eeek! Now I'm up to three bonsai within my first week in the hobby which will *hopefully* be for the greater good of all the bonsai.
I love the Bald Cypress camped out by her great, great uncle Cy in the back corner of my yard.
