What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

Finally found a Trachelospermum Asiaticum dwarf 'Chirimen' in the UK, so very pleased with that. It's gonna take some time I think, but it looks healthy so I'm looking forward to the journey.
A great fun species... I own 3, that one is really nice for the cultivar. The prevuous owner told me they don't like their roots messed with overly. @Vin . My large has larger leaves...just by being less constrained I believe. Same leaf structure and what not. My wee one. Has Itty bitty leaves.

Andy/Stone Monkey was to make me a pot...for my larger one. Then...well we lost Andy. I don't know if I'll ever hunt a pot for it. It seems..wrong to.

My gosh...I'm putting myself to bed. Dosed on meds...and strung out. I bought a novelty for retail therapy alone.

Nighty night... I half wonder...if roasting marshmallows over the cash would have been a tastier treat/reward.

Edit: Not even drain holes I'm seeing. Geesh...I'll have to use it as a prop for display for Instagram. When doing cosmic design. Maybe I'll find a big breasted woman figure to put on top...😂...as he's added big busted women apparently. Gosh...I'm such a lightweight to meds. GOTTA FIND HUMOR.
i saw those pop up online shopping and i even would pull my shirt up for them 🤣
sorry couldn't resist myself but i must admit you can make something nice with or without drainage holes !

My son collects dragons. I may allow him to have it. To display one of his dragons from the top. He may think it cool.

I so took my meds and ... they kicked in. Ya just got to laugh about it though. I didn't even look for drain holes. Though the seller said the top has one. I have seen them offered online and cringed... which is even more hilarious. I never even paused on them. Wrinkled nose...and moved on. Just...so...novelty.

I'll see...if it makes me laugh...or wince once it arrives. Totally...strung out on meds once they kicked in. I am such a lightweight when it comes to how I react.

Do you think it's Chinese rather than Japanese? Was led to believe it was Japanese but I can't tell from the stamp on the bottom.
Just for clarity, I was referring to the larger cream coloured rectangle in the upper back left of the photograph, It appears to be antique Chinese in appearance. I would not expect to see a stamp or chop on the bottom. Unless it is a reproduction or copy of that glaze and style. Here is an example of the similar characteristics from my collection.IMG_1960.JPG

Well… I was up to the wee hours trying to fix my washing machine last night, turns out the door lock mechanism was fried. Hit up Amazon for the part and the good news was that the part was cheap, in fact cheap enough that it didn’t qualify for free shipping. Needless to say they suckered me into more purchases just to get the free shipping and what pops up first as I search for random bonsai crap? I’ll tell you. I am now the new owner of one of Brussels mass produced, stick in a pot, trident maples. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ironically I had to pay for special shipping for the tree but the washing machine part qualified for free shipping after that. So I paid $10 shipping to not pay $6.99 shipping. 😅

…there’s one born every minute.

Just curious, do they sell Bougies in the nurseries around you? Never seen one around here.
Last summer Lowes carried them, not really sure why... 1st year I've seen them all over the place. Then there is a privately owned nursery near me that always has them in hanging baskets, but much smaller. They propagate them from cutting themselves.
I came across another private nursery that is somewhat bonsai inclined and they hag a few last year's bougies for 50% off. I looked at the trunks and this one looked good to me and there were two in the same pot to boot. Monrovia Burgundy Queen. Pretty sure same as in Lowes.

I figured 2 for 37 not bad.

Lucky you. Never seen them around here, ever. All of mine have come from Florida.

Thanks Darlene, I'm glad you think it looks like a good one. Just as well, there was only one! It is root bound, maybe that accounts for the small leaves.

Just returned from Bjorn's Japan tour. Bought a few items at the Kokufu: one antique Japanese pot, 3 vintage Japanese pots, Kaneshin tools, plastic mesh. And we had SO MUCH FUN! Not to mention seeing the most beautiful bonsai in the world!

When is he doing episode 10???

I see you are getting ready for next week.

I plan on grabbing some pumice tomorrow to create my sapling mix. Maybe buy some larger fender washers to boot.

Also seeing this makes me wish I had a newer mazda3 xD (mostly because I have been browsing the market place lately to see how much a light truck or kei truck costs).

For the picture tax:
A photo I took while walking around a wetland/salmon spawn creek behind my house after our snow a few weeks back.

I found the way this tree fell interesting.

It’s such a lovely and fun car. Pain in the ass for hauling things around in, which is why I’m also shopping for a van…more to come there, I’ll catch up with you about it Sunday.

The buckets were free with the shop seat!
