What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

I’d like a white chojubai as a mother plant if nothing else. Much harder to find than the red (though not without reason, I’m told)

Tax man…not that recent of a purchase, but I felt a little sad when I found out that these cutters are available in a bunch of lovely pastel colors!

ARS 140 shears, really incredible workhorse cutter, especially in fatique inducing situations.

I just made an order online from Musser Forest Nursery for 6 three year old 8"-10" Japanese black pine seedlings. One of our club members received a few and they seemed well worth it for the price. 6 seedlings for $22.02 plus $18.00 shipping. $40.70 for 6 black pines seems like a roaring deal to me. We'll see what arrives.

Keep this one on your bookmarks for next time in case Musser runs out, all their prices include shipping. I have bought their JBP before and while they lack lower branching they are very healthy when they arrive. 10 - 8-20" for 49.95 shipped. $74 for 20... not a bad deal.

I was ABOUT to recommend these folks. I've also been happy with the plants I've received from them.

Also worth mentioning our own @cmeg1. His JBP are hands down the best starters I have ever seen. The plants I received though maybe only 6”tall they already had half a dozen or more branches laiden with several buds each at the tips. His prices have also been more tan fair.

Nice! Ha ha thanks. Mr. David W. Fukumoto inspired me. Banyan is my favorite, low and wide like my backside. :) I'm dying to re-pot the Schefflera I got from @19Mateo83 they're tough tropicals, very forgiving of my rookie mistakes. Scale bugs love em as well as Aphids. Where did you get it from? They grow pretty fast too. Good luck.

For those who are curious what the Anderson Bands actually look like. I was initially disappointed in the thinness of the plastic walls, but it will probably be for the best when I go to extract them. All if the bands nested together hold the pot shape and the Anderson flat makes handling easy.

I placed the AB34 (the smallest band) inside of a spare Anderson Flat I had sitting around to plant some seedlings in. When placed into the Anderson flat, The bands look like they will hold garden soil or the larger substrate particles. As I was using smaller particles mixed with Coco-coir, I had my doubts the soil would hold in place until the roots occupied the space. So I just place a drainage layer to hold my small substrate in place in lieu of window screen. Seems to have worked for now.
