There is nothing wrong with ones taste changing...it happens when you start the journey. Your eye fine tunes...or you see a different direction for your collection. But, these trees here are decent...but, I half feel...you are curious what others have that YOU feel might be half as worthy as these two. Why trade? Why not sell and have fast green backs to spend? Example of Judy who sold and bought a dream tree. Unless Don trades you...he has done that for Judy. But not many are in the trade business. Don knows the value of your trees...he's the one you may find a better offer for your wares. But you have constantly mentioned in other threads...most here DON'T have the quality of trees as you. I don't think you ever intended to trade...for no one hear has a tree of value to match yours. In your mind...

There is nothing wrong with my attitude unless you come at me incorrectly! At which point you will quickly realize that there is no victim here nor is there anyone willing to put up with bully tactics or unprovoked rudeness. Plain and simple, if you pick a fight by throwing a punch then prepare to get hit back:) BTW, since you said it, please validate where out of nowhere I just flat out of the clear blue sky said that " people don't have the quality of tree's that I do". You said it now validate it. BTW, Smokes compliment was not a compliment, it was a snide remark based on a complete assumption and you know what they say about assumptions right:) You remind me of all of the busybody old ladies who get together after church just to talk crap about everyone else so that you can feel like you're a part of something lol. There's really no other explanation as to why your little words always seem to find their way into my threads whenever there is the slightest amount of drama. Does your involvement in this thread make you feel special, or like you belong? I can't think of one time where I jumped in one of your threads. Hell, I can't think of one time where I ever went into anybody else's threads with the same kind of attitude that so many drag into my threads. Maybe it's because I'm happy enough with myself, my tree's, and my own life to where I don't feel the need to stoop to such a pathetic and petty level:) Maybe it's because I'm actually capable of being happy for others when they get something that THEY enjoy. Maybe it's because I feel that those who constantly feel the need to belittle others are total pieces of shit that I don't care to resemble!

I find your childish rude behavior that of a troll...a troll with a few nice trees...some mediocre when sitting beside the others. I find it hard to watch someone wet behind the ears being so obnoxious to ones offering advice. But is quite the norm with you honestly. Unless one coddles you and sings your praises...you throw temper tantrums. It's your norm. So your relation of me as a busy body old lady...is BANG ON! Old ladies offer respect to those who offer advice. Even if it isn't exactly your way of thinking. If I had your address...I so would send you crayons and a few coloring books. Because maybe you could color a page when ones post is unsettling...before you reply. (Sarcasm intended)

I like your trees but do not have anything suitable to trade. (If we lived close we may be able to work something out but the shipping aspect is prohibitive on large material) One problem with selling/bartering bonsai is that it's hard to get good price/value from a group of bonsai practitioners. Also, I love that multicolor container. Good luck

"Okay, so I've carefully went over all of the advice that I have received from various members and it boils down to this:

1. Cut all of the branches off of this beautiful Elm and grow new ones

2. Cut the root ball in half in order to separate this BEAUTIFUL PIECE into two tree's

3 Drive an ice pick through the root system so that I can use a method of wiring that might damage the first generation Yamaaki pot that was made by the deceased founder himself and said method of wiring won't really do anything different in terms of results than the way I currently have it wired. But it might make the rootball shift

LMAO! You're all insane and I sincerely hope that you guys win the lottery so that YOU GUYS can obtain tree's of this caliber and do all of the above mentioned things to your own tree's! I will be leaving this tree exactly like it is until April at which point I will unscrew the two anchored wires so that I can put fresh soil in the pot and then said wires will be put back until this time next year. At that point I will see if the branches that many of you are convinced won't move, moved.

To the guy criticizing my Oak lol, THAT OAK IS ONE BADASS TREE PERIOD! You can make all of your tree's look like Bonsai all you want, me personally, I like my Bonsai to look like tree's and if you've ever seen one of this species in nature it really is true to form. BTW, the Oak still has Nagatoshi's wire on it, are you more notable than he when it comes to Bonsai?"

That for some people...
You kissing their Ass is really important!
And that you are never going to win or have peace at this site unless you do kiss their Ass.

Just for the record...

Maples in my neck of the woods have leaf curl often due to just heat and sun exposure.
I would suggest you do some research, before spraying your plants with anything any body on this site tells you to do.
This is still the internet. Tons of miss information still even here!

I mean... not only are most people telling the guy his tree is bad... even though most who replied don't have any better of a tree... are quite literally coming to his thread, that he created... to tell him how he should behave... and who he should listen too... and when he chooses not too...which by the way he has the right to do... they are the one's flipping out... saying he is the problem... even though most of the one's flipping out, have found themselves in the very same predicament... defending their own trees and what they thought was right at the time... at one point in time.

Ironic to say the least.

Why, there you go folks...guess one shouldn't point out there is a fungus or another issue that could make the health of a tree lose its vigor. Then, it esculated by...one not understanding fungus is amung us. Which...is also/most likely a different form on his Nick Lenz tree...the posters attitude was from ones posting out of place. We might wish to rethink how we address threads...keep important advice to ourselves if it is unrelated to the specific topic...so not to offend a poster. Tongue in cheek sort of thing...great advice Stacey! Trust me when I state...I can imagine a few folk who will take you to heart on that one good man! ;)

I agree with everything you said:) BTW, funny you should mention heat exposure because the entire month of February and half of March was upper 88-92f in my backyard and my Maples were out soaking up early years sun and I think that's what caused the small amount of leaf curl. I sprayed every one of my tree's after Smoke mentioned it just to be safe but I only used triple action Neem Oil. I figured it would be better to start with something lighter than copper up front...
