Well...
...so far, the only bonsai people I know are right here. I live in a very isolated area; the nearest city over 50,000 population is a three hour drive. But I have to say, I have only had 1 single negative interaction. I've only been hanging around for a couple months, so I'm sure there will be more, but I'm not letting that 5% bring me down. I get to determine the kind of day I have, and how I react to the behavior of others, good or bad. But I digress.
This community is my social media, unless you count YT (I don't). I love the willingness of information, encouragement, advice, and recommendation without judgment. I also appreciate the way people are usually direct. If I'm doing/did something wrong, there's no hesitation to tell me exactly what it was, and usually in a mostly kind way.
To me, this community is akin to attending a university, minus the politics and a boat load of classes that have nothing to do with the major.
There are people here that I would already consider as friends. Some members who feel like professors or mentors. Some people post things that just make me smile. I guess I'm kind of echoing a previous sentiment: I love that people of all races, ideologies, politics, sexes, quirks, professions, and every other persuasion can find a common ground in this fascinating scientific art.
Thank you all, for welcoming me and sharing your wealth of wisdom, experience, and knowledge.
