The "say something nice about the person above you" thread

@Japonicus I have noticed in your posts that you give good advice without saying boy did you screw up. But instead Ok, since you did this, now do this. Being helpful without condemnation. That is admirable.

Why thank you young lady! I learned from the best @Carol 83 ;)

@Clorgan it's great to have another lady join us here, and such a nice one at that. You have jumped right in with enthusiasm and have started a nice collection. Love those Fuschias of yours. Plus you like beer! 🍻

@Carol 83 keeps conversations going with usually-positive, never cutting remarks, maintains a good sense of humor and is generous with her time even to those of us who lack spectacular trees. I don't know you well, but enough to know it is nice to have you around!

Do people really dunk donuts into coffee? 🤢
@Mapleminx the girl with the best jokes that's guaranteed to lift the spirits of Scrooge on a bad day.
I do not, but have seen it done. Why waste a good donut? The cup was a gift from...
I don't remember who.

@ShadyStump as a teacher, I think it is awesome that you go out of your way to try and encourage your students to do their best and foster their interests. And even though you are going through some tough personal issues, you continue to participate here in a thoughtful manner, and offer advice.

Read a quote once that went something like, "wisdom is often gained through experience, but experience is often a result of a lack of wisdom." I seem to recall there was something similar about building character but can't think of it right now.

@HorseloverFat, as I get to know you more, I begin to think that in some ways you're way too wise a character 😏...
And bless us all with it at every turn.
Thanks for all you are.

@ShadyStump would LIKE to have you believe he’s “stock” under the mental/psychological “hood”... this is FAR from the truth... I share correspondence with him... he’s got “brain chops” and is a pleasure to converse with.
I truly enjoy your presence and contributions here!

Need to get you LESS shy about sharing trees! ;) ;) ;)

*playfully nudges with elbow*

(No need to “do me” again)

I’m already flattered beyond belief!

🤓

Same here.
And I'll share trees when they're not dying!

Carol...

She could “do better” than Bjorn!
;)
🤓
Luckily for me, I have done very well. I have the best dad I could have asked for my kids and he is also quite handsome. Will be married for 38 years this July (I was a child bride). But it is still a good picture lol. Keeping with the spirit of the thread @ShadyStump the world needs more teachers like you and @AZbonsai .

Well, I felt kind of shy and tongue-tied, deciding to join this thread, but I like Carol 83 -- and reading her post just now made me smile. I love that purple is her favorite color too -- couldn't think of a better person to "lose" a purple pot to, if it ever happens!

@TinyArt is the LEAST shy person I have conversed with on this forum.. Standing, waving a punk-rock “salute” at those looking down on the decorative, horticultural use of clay figures.🤣🤣

More seriously, @TinyArt always has intriguing and informative contributions to discussions, and wears their given personality RIGHT in front... just like me.

🤓

Aww, man -- I TRIED to keep my mouth shut about mudmen. Y'know, wait 'til the topic comes up, keep it low-key -- 😳

Still & all, that's got to be one of the best things anybody's said about me, and I thank you, @HorseloverFat -- you've made me feel welcome from day one, you've entertained me, and surprised me, and let me look over your shoulder at fascinating doings!!! 🤩
