The Identification Thread....perhaps?

Hey! You get it :)

I’m not particularly up on my American vines, but I ran it through an ID app and it suggested Fox Grape, Vitis Labrusca. Any signs of fruiting? I had no idea that various wine grape varieties were bred from this species, but might be a good find.

I ran it through a couple of times with two pictures and this is what it came up with both times. The app is not fool proof though so could be completely wrong. It also suggested bur cucumber and english ivy as secondary options. I know it’s not the ivy.
It just looks like Ivy to me and we have it here climbing up at least 30 feet on trees. It has become a terrible invasive nearly as bad a:mad:s Himalayan blackberries.

Can this be anything other than trident maple? I've been collecting seeds and growing them for a few years now. I just want to make sure that I'm not wasting time developing something else than I wanted.
Looks like trident maple to me, particularly the lack of noticeable teeth on the leaf, and the exfoliating bark strips on the trunk.

Thank you for the confirmation

I would appreciate help to ID this tree plz...
I'm just about sure its a Juniper...but would love to know which one....if possible 🤔

The seed pods don't look quite right for a juniper. Maybe Monterey cypress or something related?
Edit: This is Monterey foliage & cones

Thank you.
Nah its definitely not the Monterey cypress. I know them very well. They are all over here in NZ.
Ah i took it as a juniper because of the scaly foliage....now i'm really confused.
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to coniferous trees.
This one has a blueish tinge to it...if that helps.

Cupressus and Hesperocyparis are difficult to identify.

Cone shape and size are one.
Cone scale with a distinct point (umbo)
Leaf tips free or appressed at the tips
Obvious gland on the back of the leaf

While I don't like ID by photos, you can eliminate many by looking at the foliage and cones here

Thanks again. I've since seen some others around town to. I'll drag the branch to some nurseries. I'm sure i'll walk away with an answer....somewhere.

Well...I don't always trust these things, but according to the PlantNet app, it looks like a Arizona cypress.
Have to say so far I agree....😉

Not a Bonsai, not even a tree. I forget the species and instead of an internet search, I thought I'd ask on this thread I noticed earlier.

Only thing I really want to know is if it would survive the seasons outside, in the ground, in 6b zone. IMG_3779.JPG

Dracena. Won't survive outside for you or for me, but if you want to save space you can chop the heads off, stick them in the pot and they'll root and grow.

OK, bummer. Oh well.. thanks.

Yeah this one's way past due and needs to be cut. It's actually a cutting from a cutting, from a cutting... you know how it goes. lol
