Here is a middling fair ButtonBUSH (Cephalanthus) bonsai displayed a couple of years ago at the Carolina Bonsai Expo.

Jkl, that buttonbush was very nice, tough loss. I love the choice of pot. How do these trees fare in regards to leaf reduction? There seems to be a lack of information on the internet for buttonbush bonsai. Not that it could necessarily be trusted...

Leaves are large. They reduce a little; enough for a fairly large bonsai. Mine at 22 inches was about as small as you could get away with. The one in the NC show was about 36 inches tall, as I recall.
