Show Us Your Bonsai Benches

Lots of beautiful benches and setups on this thread. Inspiration for sure. Thank you everyone for sharing.

Here are mine. They still function. This gets full sun from sunrise to sun down at 1 end or the other. I actually just remulched it lol

At first, I used this little one for a "shade /partial sun" bench.... now it has been moved to the back patio getting full sun and holding tomato plants for my 4 year old lol

Threw together another bench/ monkey pole. This one is movable with 14” steel spike on the bottom. Although I’m not sure I will be moving it. More to paint but this one should be much easier.

Nice job! Looks like your trees will get plenty of sun. What process did you use to waterproof them?

Great ideas in this thread. Nice work. I have some plans for benches in mind but would like to hear... What you do NOT like about your benches. What would you do different the next time?

I picked up this table before Christmas off of FB marketplace. It was a much better price than I could build it. A good pressure washing and a coat of paint equals the seedling table I’ve been needing! I will probably add a shelf underneath later but I’m happy with how it turned out.

Bonus points for great up-cycling. Looks good and an additional shelf sounds like a great idea.

If yo
if you would have notched those 6x6 that you attached those small headers to prior to the lag bolts it would have made a stronger platform for the weight which will be placed on the bench. I guess it could still be done. Just my humble .02.
Can’t wait to see your bonsai garden when completed.

A more dense colony in a inside corner of the house facing south and west which baffles winds to some extent. High winds are always problematic, and maximizing sun, too. The single visible wall faces ~195° mostly a growing-on area.20161010_120239.jpg20160503_124022.jpg20160503_124059.jpg

Thanks all. Some wonderful ideas here. I will be building a new bench when the weather breaks and I got a few great ideas here.

Just got mine put together over two years after moving in... the price was right.. free materials. I may bring one or both sides in a little so there is more through way in the yard. I think it will be plenty of space. I picked up some extra boards for when these wear out, but I am thinking through more durable materials as well. Like and old granite counter top or something.
