Last year I planted this trident maple onto a lava rock and I have really been looking forward to the repot of it this year to see how well it did and I couldn’t be more stoked, it has already completely fused to the rock and doesn’t even have a wiggle to it. I will let it grow freely agian this year and next year I will bare root it a bit more and select some roots

One of my favorite trees is this grove of trident maples that I put together, it’s always a treat going to see Dylan at cedar rose nursery and when I was down there last year he said if I didn’t take a flat of tridents they were going to head to the burn pile! I think they have more of a chance to survive in my garden than in the burn pile lol so far I haven’t let them down. This year I removed the wire they already starting to fuse together
