Progressive maple- Dave Murphy

I would look at tipping the tree to the left AND pulling the right branch/trunk back toward the main trunk. Then it would not feel as off balance, and would also be more attached to each other visually.
I think the lower trunk and root spread will look best where it is now, but I'm going to try lifting up that secondary trunk...stay tuned.

Dave, can you do a favor just for me, and put a block under the right side for a pic. I for some reason can't get that image out of my head. I like this tree very much.

Will do, but it may be a few days from now...it's supposed to start raining this afternoon and not stop until Saturday. I assume you just want it tipped a little?

Ok, so I raced home during lunch while braving the rain showers for two reasons: 1) Matt O sent me another package...;), 2) I had some time to get some shots for judy...
Unfortunately, the pics of the whole tree don't really show the best part of the tree all that well...the base. First pic- the money shot. Second pic is the tree as potted. Third pic is the tree with right side raised a smidge. Fourth pic is the tree with the right size raised two smidges.

From the pics, I like it raised two smidges best, and also would like for the tops to relax to the opposite direction where they're leaning. I'm just happy to see you slowly transform this.

I like it one smidge up. I really prefer the trunk/base to be perpendicular the the viewing plane for this tree.

The change of bringing the secondary trunk in is great. Once the approach graft takes and you start building the canopy out to the left a bit I think this will be a really great tree.

Fwiw, the trunk base/root spread is pretty much perpendicular as potted right now....crappy low light photos aren't helping much.

Yeah Dave, I think that it's going to have to be a in person call between 1 or 2 smidges, but I like it better in both 1 and 2 smidges. How is it in person?

I prefer the current potting angle, mainly because the root spread and lower trunk look best there in my opinion. Still, it may change...I guess I've got until March of 2016 to nail it!
