Everyone has differing opinions as it should be. I guess if the object is to show it at a high level, then to some extent the opinions of whatever judging yardstick is being used is the important one. As I don't display my trees on stands except for showing, then that for me is the important criteria.
If I were to give an opinion on that table/tree pairing, I would add a couple inches to the leg height. That tree is so tall, that I wouldn't go much higher though.
But clearly the table is perfect for the tree in this instance as it won the day. Personal satisfaction is important, but is not the only consideration if showing is part of the goal.
In the case of this big trident, it's more massive than tall. So if I get this right, that means the table needs to be heavier, fairly simple and medium height.
