I have several saplings that are a while away from needing much done and one watereri variety a little bit further long.

Picked up this "blue pearl" this weekend for practice material as its a bit further along than anything I currently have.

Lots of healthy growth

Nice thick base and some flaky bark developing

I'll repot it late summer into a pine mix or straight pumice. Roots look healthy and growing well.

Several possible trunk lines

A few circling roots that might need to be dealt with to improve the nebari.

I'll hopefully get in and begin to trim some of the un needed branches/whorls and start to get a better look at the options.

Either way, it's a nice compact tree and if it comes to it, it can always go in the ground as a garden tree.

I have a tray of scots pine and blue atlas cedar seedlings. It's almost approaching midsummer hear, just deciding when to repot these individually ? Currently in peat and perlite.

I also performed seedling cuttings on these, humic/fulvic acid soak and rooting hormone. Kept in semi shade. Been about 14 days or so and I've been misting them daily. Some looking a bit ropey now, not sure what else I should be doing with these ?

It's been roughly month with the seedling cuttings. A few lost to what might be slugs but otherwise still going strong.

The rest of the seedlings are growing nicely but a little leggy. I may find the time to get them into individual pots in the autumn.

The larger scots pine material I am planning on taking to my local club to pick a trunk line.

Cleaned it up a little today, I am fairly sure the yellowing needles are just old, but there were quite a few. The rest of the foliage seems healthy.
