Literati Ponderosa

I have a couple of options so far, but I'm leaning toward a type of semi cascade pot at the moment. A crescent is certainly an option, but I'll try out the pot with soil mounded first.
Hi Dan;
I really LOVE this tree! It's going to be really interesting to see how it finally gets potted up. For potting Dan there's another option: If you know any potters see if you can collaborate and make a special custom pot for it. I've seen one really WILD "cliff side" pot that Ryan has and that's where I got the idea. We have a potter in our club and I got that wild idea from seeing Ryans tree/pot combo. This tree certainly deserves the best effort.

All good ideas guys! I would LOVE to have Erik Krizovensky design a pot for this tree. I might even do it in the future. Shipping is killer though. https://www.facebook.com/atelier.bonsai.element?fref=ts&ref=br_tf
I've thought about a rock or crescent pot as well, and that could be a very good option.

This is where I think I'm headed at this point: http://www.bonsaivision.com/product-p/bvf3016.htm I have one pot like this, and I feel it could turn out looking very good. Here's a virt a friend of mine quickly threw together for me.

The base of the tree is a bit larger, so the soil will mound a bit higher. But besides that, this is very close to how I hope everything turns out in the future. :)

Lovely !!! wonderful transformation.

This front view is good, but somehow I like the back view as the front view.

wow what a tree. I have several lodge pole pines in my yard I am thinking of trying this style with a couple of them. I cant wait to see what this tree looks like when you put it into a new pot.
