Planted Seeds
Decided to plant without pretreatment,except for a 24 hour kelp water soak.
FW Schumacher stated no pretreatment needed.Germination may be erratic,but hopefully the gibberellic acid in the Kelp gives them a boost.
Not to mention the bottom heat and humidity from the dome.
Seems very good seed,as nearly all sank to the bottom.Thats a lot of seed too.

Got rid of the Rockwool

Went ahead to try another method.Rockwool was bugging me.I want to be able to see roots.Good stuff though in open air if wanting to conserve water.
Filled a flat with Perlite and a sprinkling of moss on top.

A few were rooting very nicely.If they all do that I will be happy! The rest are calloused.
The ones on left had big callousing.The ones on right have none.I kept them to see what happens.

Next batch coming soon! This was definately a crash course.
Can’t wait to get rooted ones in the air under full spectrum light and start the growth of roots first for some strong little trees!!
These should be super vigorous.

Pines doing good
These should be in the pines forum.
Getting good roots...hope to make lots of these.
About 30 of seedling cutting are just getting ready to take off and grow pushing mature needles.Once they get to that stage they get very green and grow fast.(co2)

one week of growth!

here is a regular seedling before and after...one week!
1000 ppm of Co2 increases photosynthesis by 50%. So I read anyway......seems to do the trick though for excellerated growth indoors!
Very weak nutrient charge only about .8-.9 ec

normal is 1.2-1.6 or more for mature plants.

First month was dedicated to roots with addition of a pinch of monoammonium phosphate.
I just recently bumped up the nitrogen total a tad in place of the starter formula.

fast growth

Three weeks apart the pictures.I was planning on selling the seedling cuttings in10 packs or something come Spring,but I may have to re-think that.They will probably be much bigger than I anticipated!

Seedling cuttings starting to grow

Been on starter formula for about 2-3 weeks now with phosphorous boost for roots,so now I have added a natural organic base grow and eliminated the mono-ammonium phosphate.
They seem they’re gonna do well.Stocky!

Did about 270 seedling cuttings last Thursday.
Tons left to make more and experiment with.Stems were left only 1/2” long or less.Used a quick dip for roughly 4 minutes per cutting(dip n grow).

A few interesting ones
I like the ones that have bunches of low branches.Will be nice to see if they just push one leader or many.This one has 8 branches right on top of roots!
Maybe get some clumps or something.
Kelp and blue enhanced light really accentuates this.Kelp and fulvic acid foliar too.

Rooting seems good

I always know if tops are not growing,roots are.It’s nice to have a big root system to support later growth.Every now and then a root pokes through.These pots prune roots in the interior of the fabric.I personally like that.Gets roots branching and dividing at a very early age.Should be awesome!

Weekly......definately no more as heat is a byproduct of cytokinesis (cell division) and leaves will burn,especially with fulvic acid.I learned even 2-3 weeks is sufficient to have the benefits of suppressed top growth and more lateral growth...plus the chemical reactions and other things that seaweed does.Great stuff! Two thumbs up

Here are products I am using...though the powders of each are good....highly recommend adding fulvic acid.It literally transports the seaweed directly into plant cells in about 4 hrs,and first 15 minutes after lights out is best time to spray,but I heard morning is good too.And OH YEA, The Yucca root powder is a fantastic surfectant(wetting agent) that spreads water droplets around better.
PH foliar sprays between 6.2-7.0

Will be legal to ship by Spring.
Hoping to have good strike rates with the almost 400 rooting now.
I only keep the full rooted ones.Whole circumferance.
I still have about 800 more seedlings and will try different techniques for making the cuttings,so should have a bunch to sell.
The batch now are rooting at 12 days!

Bunch more on the way...about 600 rooting.Will see how many are keepers!
Doing pretty good...these are two months old from dip in the rooting hormone!
