Great Bonsai Quotes

Wife: "Is that a new tree?"
Me: "That tree? No, I've had that one for years... ":)
Been there, done that..

Or how about: "What new tree are you talking about? Oh, that one? Nah, we've had that one a while. It was over on the other bench and I just repotted and pruned it."

..or, "but Sweetie, in a couple years I can double my money."
I try to stick with "Nahh I have had that one for MONTHS baby?.." I think she has caught on and does the same thing to me with shoes and jewelry... I just keep playing along and pretend not to know the difference!

"I like the direction you are taking that tree"
translation:
"I have no more idea where you are going with that than you do . . ."
but I have got to say something since you asked.
other versions:
to a chef: that dish was very interesting
to an architect: lovely proportions
there are dozens of 'em

After a concert: I never heard anything like it (said with a smile)
Or the one that never fails, especially for Trekkies: fascinating

At a box store a few years ago my Wife was buying up several small tropicals and telling me the names of each as they were all labeled Bonsai and I don't normally do them. Meanwhile there is a woman looking at them and after my Wife spouted out several names the women standing next to her whispered "It is a Bonsai" We smiled, walked away and I told my Wife "I guess hers will all die"

She sounded like she was from the New England states though.

Regardless of where she is from, she obviously doesnt get out much. I grew up in Maine and they do have big lilac trees (my local library had a huge old one), apple trees and I am sure a few others I am forgetting.

"Water a windy night before a hot day and trees die by high noon."

If I gotta heat em, let the squirrels eat em!

"If your hands are clean on the way home from the nursery, and you bought a tree, you can usually use those clean hands to throw that crap out the window."

Maybe not a quote but my bonsai club big guy knew Harry Hirao and he was saying stories of how he always said "cut here for now"

Dario posted this on his Facebook Group. I kinda like it:

Masahiko Kimura was asked;

“Can you teach anyone to make bonsai?”
His response was “I can teach you techniques such as trimming and wiring.
But I can't teach you imagination. That comes from within.”

In response to the question "What should I do with(how should I style) this?" :

"Put it in the ground for at least 5 years."
