The Pines are at 4 months now!

This one is honestly one of the shorter ones,but it has a very thick trunk already.

GETTING CLOSE TO SPRING……GROWHOUSE IS PUMPED ON EVERYTHING.


So I increased the fertlizer slightly…about 1.0—1.3 EC
TEMPERATURE UP TO ABOUT 84 F
Co2 around 1300 ppm.BIG GROWTH…
The Siberian Elms are approaching 20 inches.

I figured I’d do this these last few weeks before spring sale.
Very fun!

The plants are responding great to the increased co2 adjustment from last week.
Around 1300-1500 ppm……maximum useable amount.

The Siberian Elms are around 2 feet tall and the JBP trunks are thickening and have very sturdy leaves and meristem budsets on alot of them.These will grow bigtime!!

Can aslo see my personal Siberian Elm bonsai in the red pot.It is directly under an led light at around 1000-1200 par intensity!
Very strong light,but this is fine in high co2 levels……can see the deep red meristem tips of the shoots……nice thick leaves too.I give this an early start every season……its only 2 years old.

Thanks……The Pines will actually do better outside at this point because they have rather outgrown their growing space.Having them this close is only good with a somewhat strong breeze blowing directly through them most of the time as the humidity will hover around the surface area of plants leaves and all together stop photosynthesis and respiration since the stagnent water dense air forming around leaves without a breeze…..proper grow humidity is 40-60% .
I put a large fan blowing through and rather intense light to penetrate.
The breeze cannot be too strong though as it will close the leaf stomata as a natural defense which is counter productive to good grow environment perameters.

At any rate, though, when they are outside in the sun and have light at the bottom branches, they will branch out vigorously from the more equal light, but they are quite healthy grown even in these packed conditions. I always have the breeze blowing directly through them, especially on the every other day watering cycle I will even let the fan run on lights out cycle too.

The same goes for the 2 foot tall Siberian elm you can see all 350 of them packed together!!!

The breeze is everything in a grow. If you don’t have it, your plants suffer, almost instantly with deficiency because of humidity forming around the leaves and not moving it gets well near 100%…… even though your room humidity will read proper.

NEEDED ROOM IN THE GROWHOUSE TO EVEN OUT FOR THE PINES SO I BROUGHT THE SIBERIAN ELMS OUT IN THE CHILLY MARCH AIR TO REST AWHILE FOR ANOTHER BURST OF GROWTH IN SPRING.

Was very easy…grabbed bushels of them and laid in the grass a day and then onto an aerated grow table for a few day till’ it dips below freeze again.I transport them under my home when it’s near freeze.Water the bushels in a bucket.

These are going to be huge air-layers….already approaching 3’ tall and it is not Spring yet.
These should have nice trunks by this Autumn ……I will ring-bark them in early April and plant into 3” stonewool blocks without topping the meri-stems at all.

The funny thing is these are only 9 weeks old

PINES ARE A NICE COLOR…….VIGOROUS.

A quite low ec……only .8!
That is barely early veg strength!!!

The reason this is capable are all the natural chelators in the fertilizer, amino acids ,fulvic and humic acids……is probably like having 20% or more stronger…….. and also the Grodan stonewool is very nutrient retentive and there’s also tons of roots in that little air-pruned mini block.

great seedling cutting roots

Got this pretty dialed in anymore.82% success of great radial rooting.
The new technique I have been doing is applying fulvic acid /kelp 5:2 ratio more than once a week.....about twice a week(normally not recommended as it wil burn more than once a week) ,though the pines can take it just till the tips start to yellow and then I ease up.Rooting is consideralbly better and fuller.
Last tray had 45 cuttings and only 8 rejects!!!!

Have a tray of Mikawa seeds sprouting that will get this same treatment.

They also get mother fertilizer about .4-.5 EC
Hopefully these are ready in about 6 weeks for october sales.Then I will get started on the Winter Mikawa haul..
