You have a foreigner, who worked as an illegal immigrant in the US, and now is the richest person on the world based on a meme stock, and whose loyalties may lie with China or Russia, deliberately destroying your federal government. That's Elon Musk. He doesn't have an official government job. There is no oversight from congress. And what Elon has been doing has already been ruled illegal by your courts.
They have 19 year old kids who didn't even go through college yet in charge of just firing thousands of federal employees, all at random. These people are suddenly in video calls, and they don't know anything.
They just sent out emails to every government employee, asking them to quit their job with half a year worth of pay as a bonus. And government employees just report these emails as phishing emails to their IT departments, as the emails were so odd and poorly worded.
Funding for all kinds of government projects is just paused. American scientists cannot talk anymore to scientists in other countries. Databases with important data, like DNA sequences or climate models, are being shut down randomly.
If Elon Musk shuts down ncbi.gov tomorrow, we literally cannot do any life science research anymore. And the same data that allows for research into climate change, allows for weather predictions.
Without the US data, we cannot predict the weather in Europe, Asia or Africa as accurately anymore. Which is bad for agriculture. Bad for air and sea travel. And bad for storm damage and death prevention.
Food aid, with American flags on it, intended for areas where there may be a famine is rotting in warehouses, because it is not 'efficient' to give hungry people American-branded food aid.
People with HIV in Africa could no longer get their medicines from local clinics because Elon Musk shut them down.
All NIH research into infectious diseases, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, it is all at risk of being shut down.
In the mean time, Elon Musk is bragging about how he shut down criminal institutions. And lying on twitter about fraud he claims to have discovered.
When the US courts have told the Trump administration that they don't have the authority to cancel congressional mandated funding, their team of lawyers don't even have a legal argument. This is going to be pushed to the Supreme Court. And Trump will put tremendous pressure on them, announcing publicly he will just ignore their ruling. And there is literally nothing to stop Trump because SCOTUS are just a bunch of old people in silly robes because Trump is supposed to enforce the laws and the rulings made by SCOTUS. And congress is supposed to be a check on Trump. But the GOP congress is missing in action, voting in the worst people imaginable to head several branches of government. A ton of people at the DoJ have already resigned in protest. And Russia and China may already have a ton of US government data, that Musk stole.
USAID provided 42% of all humanitarian aid globally. China and Russia are already prepared to step in and replace the US, and gain political influence. You may not care if millions in say Africa will starve from famine or malaria. But Musk is destroying US soft power that US politicians and diplomats took decades to build up. From both of your political parties.
Just today, CNN reported that Musk fired about 300 nuclear weapon engineers from the DoE. And then rehired some of them, after they found out who they actually fired.
That's how stupid and dangerous this is. Yeah, it sucks that a bonsai museum gets no funding. But that's not really important. I told some of you before that if you go through with Trump, and the worst case happens, the only good your bonsai would be is for firewood.
Those bonsai museums should be the least of your worries.
Those Elon tech kids, sometimes foreigners with a BSc in IT just fresh out of college, are literally going ctrl + F through federal databases, and canceling everything with 'equity', 'inclusion', 'equality' etc, as a keyword. As a result, a ton of small farmers already got their government subsidies canceled. And tons of people who thought they were getting a government job, sold their old house, moved and bought a new house, are now told they won't actually get the job, because of 'DEI".
In the mean time, you have JD Vance meet with the literal neonazi party of Germany, trying to help them win the upcoming election in Germany. JD Vance literally had the gall to tell European security and defence experts that China and Russia do not pose a threat. But that the real threat is 'the enemy within' in Europe itself, namely woke politics or something. And that we in Europe have weak democratizes if Romania needs to redo an election after Russian interference. When Vance himself can't even admit that Trump lost 2020 and Trump released all the Jan6 insurrectionists, even the very violent ones. And then he added that Europe needs to defend Ukraine, but Europe and Ukraine both get no say in any Ukraine-Russia peace deal.
You have no idea how much already Trump has pissed off all US allies. And made champagne bottles pop in Beijing and Moscow.
Your government was couped by traitors, controlled by Russia and China. They are breaking all your laws. And they have already said that if courts rule again that they are abusing their power, they will just ignore the court.
You should call your state representatives and voice your concerns. Especially about Elon Musk. And about how damaging the federal government is affecting your local economy. Or even your bonsai museum or local farmers.
I think there should be a general strike, demanding for Trump and Musk to both step down and be arrested. And for SCOTUS and congress to come together and appoint a Gore & Romney interim government charged with fixing the damage DOGE did, prosecuting Trump and Musk, and organizing new elections. Gore is the only guy that won an election and was never president. And he can work with Romney, a GOP presidential candidate, to fix your country.
Because there is no way this Trump presidency is going to get better.
We didn't know at the start if Trump was just running to not go to jail. And he would just go golfing most of the time, if elected. But it turns out we are truly in a worse case scenario where the people around Trump are actually quite competent, and carrying out Project 2025 to the letter. And on top of that, we have Elon Musk who was a private citizen is basically taking over the government.
Oh, and I even forget the part where Canadians absolutely hate your guts now for that tariff stunt, which is still on the table btw. Or Trump wanting to bomb Mexico or invade Greenland and Panama.
Even if SCOTUS steps up and Trump listens. Even if Trump and Musk have a falling out. Even if Trump decides this is not so good after all, because the financial markets responded. And that he should go back more to playing a reality tv president. Then this craziness is still all baked into the cake. The Overton window has shifted by an enormous amount.
It is perfectly allowed for congress to review some of the more woke policies inside these departments. Or to just do less foreign aid. Which I would disagree with. But who cares, because I am not American. And the president can work with congress to do so. But that's not what is happening. Having the richest man in the world, who is an admitted drug addict and suffers from mental illness, just pull pieces out of your precious federal government, as if it is a Jenga tower, to see if it all collapses, yes or no, is not just horrible, but also criminal. BTW, there is also no need, because the US can easily afford the current federal government. This is way beyond a simple constitutional crisis.
