Wiring is good! Tree looks good and so healthy! Here’s my only thing. The two tops are indicating directionality away from each other. If that was the intention then I’m all about it. We don’t always have to make trees be these harmonious triangles we often see. If it is not the intention, then It detracts from the overall appearance.


With that said. I think you can make the opposing apex work more over time. Just gotta have that goal and continue pushing for it.

It’s a great tree regardless though James.

Looking closer at the overall comp. While I like that deadwood spire, this angle makes the base of the tree much less powerful. Almost to an inverse proportion. Just something to consider for future show angle and chosen front.

I only ask because your wiring and styling leaves the tree a bit ambiguous in terms of its flow. There is no real defining branch, which can usually be your indicator for directionality but not always. The thing I look at second is the apex to see which direction the tree wants to guide your eye. But in this case, the apex seems to be split into two and each apex takes the tree in two directions.

With all this said James, I don’t think this is a bad thing, I just wanted to get you thinking about the question, cause if you ever exhibit the tree, which I think you definitely should, it’s something someone else may ask you. A tree in tension that pulls your eye left right is totally fine, I just believe that it should be intentionally executed. If not, direction is important. For the accent plant, scroll, stand, or whatever you choose to display with the tree.

I'm with Hartinez, I don't think that is the pot for this tree. I think I'd rather see softer corners on a rectangle pot for that tree. Here's a mock up of it in your pot though if it helps.

My vote is for this one. Colorado spruce definitely don't like drying out, so a slightly deeper pot will help with that.

The other two squares would be more suited for cascades I feel like.
