Chaenomeles japonica "quince"

No reactions on the virt but i stripped the bark off
Came to the conclusion that the part i wanted to hollow was already dead :eek:

All that remains is to get the dremmel out and carve some wood away to start with and look for what to use to preserve the wood and get it to be dark to get the hollow look going

I think you are moving too fast. Slow it down and let the tree do its thing for at least a year or two. Just trim and enjoy.

I like to know On what signs do you base this advice?
No offence just curious !

My tought:
It has not been repotted and looking healthy
Airlayered one part
Created deadwood where the most of it was already dead
I will let the tree grow freely rest of season and think it will be fine
