calling my country men, South Africa that is

It should be a good game and Japan proves that SA is not invincible. USA has massive potential if they could beat a big team the way Japan did it would just explode

Im an expat now living in NZ. Been here for 11 years but will die a Bok fan. The reason the ABs are that good, is because the system behind them (from absolute ground level) is strong and well managed. The Boks used to have such a system, and subsequently they always were the team to beat. Nowadays politics are trying to rule rugby in SA, and that brakes down the players psyche and motivation. Has been like that for many years now. That's why the Boks have slowly been declining for the last number of years, and that's why so many of the best players are playing overseas....:( Very sad situation in my eyes. I simply cant see the Boks getting back to where they once were. Not at the rate things are going against them now in any case...!!!
Anyway with my rant out the way..... I simply love African trees. Hell of a big selection for bonsai. Have imported a few different seeds and growing them on for bonsai. Nothing like a well formed Acacia tree. My absolute favourite ....!!!

Yeah Milly I miss those African trees. As Billy said above, its sad that SA hasn't got a bonsai forum. There used to be one but it shut down. Hope someone puts up another very soon. There is so much bonsai things going on there, and its not being shared.....!

hey Billy (you of little faith)
don't you know we still have the most potent players on earth???
we still have a realistic chance of winning this one!!
and what's wrong with Habana - going to be the greatest try scorer soon??
We do have awesome trees for bonsai
but even after 13 years doing it my trees still suck...
At least I remain passionate:)
cheers dudes!! just trying to survive this heatwave,
was over 40 yesterday.

Cape Town is hosting the 4th African Bonsai Convention 22 - 25 October.
There will be talks, demos and workshops by, amongst others, Ryan Neil, Tony Tickle and Francois Jeker.
I've registered for the entire convention and also for one of the workshops and
CAN'T WAIT!!!

I keep coming back here to see the ratio of rugby/bonsai posts!

Still only one Safa?
Lot of rugby.
Maybe 2 bonsai posts!

Love it!

I lived in Salisbury (when it was called that) and I used to make frequent journeys down to the Carlton Centre to pick up a few Kruger Rand in preparation of the exodus. I've seen most of the RSA, except for Bloemfontein. Those were the days!

You obviously haven't seen how it is now, still awesome that is, so much potential. Sure it has it's bad sides just like it did in the days you refer too.

Nebari. You can say that again.....Those were the days !!! Love the "When We's". Great people. Quite a few I know here in NZ...;)
Yeah I also visited the Carlton as a kid. Was an awesome place those days. Today its just a skeleton and a breeding place for evil !!!

It's had potential since the time of de Grote Trek. Probably much earlier than that actually!
