I just randomly came across a video of that particular tree yesterday. It happens to be shown in an old YouTube clip from years ago of Ryan Neil doing a critique of a show in Grand Rapids.

I met Mayank at the beginning of the show this morning. He and I both had to head back home this afternoon but we will be both be back in the morning. We need to get some sort of photo proof that we were all there . There might have been one of those silver cup awards in front of Mayank’s juniper, which is truly a sweet tree!

The show as a whole was impressive. This was my second show as I attended the fall West Michigan Club show as well. However this time I was much more knowledgeable and had a greater appreciation for every tree. I wish I wasn’t in a time crunch as I could have stared at many of those trees for much much longer. Overall it did solidify that I generally prefer the looks of conifers over deciduous. I can’t wait to come back next year!

No unfortunately I’m busy tomorrow. However, now that I see your picture I most definitely saw you as I was leaving. I noted several of your trees in the show and they were all memorable!

Thank you for your kind words, I wish I could have participated this year but fortune has not been kind to me this year. We lost our son and have been totally involved in setteling his estate including sale of the house. My wife and I have been busier than a one leged man in a butt kicking contest, not to mention the grief. Next year I hope. It would be nice if we could find out about the show sooner than two weeks.

I am so sorry to hear about your son. I cannot imagine what you two are going through. Next year if you wish I can come help if you wish to participate. The show is around the same time every year.
But you are right because Josh sent the email in April and that didn't give people much time if they didn't know about it. Hope to see you at the 4 seasons show!
