Bog Tamarack #3. So dope.

This one was the 1st I collected from the bod this spring.
What can I say? It’s dope.
However, I didn’t get a ton off roots, so I’m babying this one pretty hard
.
Also potted in 50/50 pumice , sphagnum moss.

Buds seem to be pushing well.

By no means out of the woods yet. But….
For now, I’m excited for this tree.

So far, I’ve just been keeping it wet, and in a spot that gets a break in the early afternoon-with dappled shade- and around 5-6 hours direct sun. I do think it’s important to keep the root balls on these newly collected trees cool. Healing the black nursery pots into the ground may help.

Put this up on the bench today and took some shots. The lichen seems to be sticking around for now.

It’s been a bit since I posted an update on this one. It has been repotted into a cedar grow box.

It has been trimmed and wired minimally. I’m not sure if I have the potting angle right. I think there’s a better option.

Appears to be a lot less lichen? Did you remove some or is that environmental? I Have a different type on mine. Not on the tree itself but in the soil. And on my juniper collected same spot.

Some is still there. I imagine it will fade away in time
