Does anyone have any suggestions for a beginner non-bonsai horticulture/botany type book? Somewhere between a children's book and a textbook.
This is the text i used in high school advanced placement biology and in intro biology for my biochemistry degree. Its a fantastic text bookI can recommend this book, for all intents and purposes: https://chemistry.com.pk/books/campbell-biology-12e/
I checked the PDF with my virus scanner and it found nothing, so it seems trustworthy. But do check for yourself before opening it. Also, read the instructions about the password you need to download it, it's a simple copy and paste.
It goes into moderate depth on how plants work and how everything in life is chemistry. It start off at an easy pace in every chapter and it has great images to explain how and why things work the way they do.
If you just skim the information, it should arm you with all the knowledge you need to skip the botany books. Or.. If you ever want to become a high school biology teacher because this is about the whole curriculum and then some for university entry level biology.
