Autumn colours

Larches turn pretty late this year.
Not the quality of most on here but i like Larches.
1st and last larches are collected.
2nd is Katsura
My maples just kinda dried up and died this year... not much color.

Nice starter trees. You seem to be doing it right. What is your soil?

Oh...I realized after the leaves fell and the neighbors brush died, that I was leaving my goods really exposed to the dumb ass thieves.
So I'm wintering low.

Barberry done went!

And this thing grew and stayed green most all of last winter, FROZEN!, so this was a treat too!

Looks a little like a sycamore or London plain tree leaf.

London plain tree is a cross of an American Sycamore and an European sycamore.

Cool info, I have no knowledge of either being local. We do have a few enormous Maples close by so it was my thought. Now my gears are spinning and the search is on!

I agree. There are dozens in my yard at the moment, and I have a relatively young (ca. 20 years old) sycamore just behind my fence. My huge maple in the front is a silver maple, so its leaves never get this big.

The London Plain Tree is being planted more as a street tree as it is more disease resistant than the sycamores. The village planted one in front of my house two and a half years ago, after I lost a 70+ year old hackberry. It gets about 80 feet tall. The sycamore is the tallest tree east of the Rockies at 120 feet.

They both have white and green bark. The white splits and peels and reveals the green. They are distinguishing characteristic is the bud color.

Yes I will be repotting this spring, I have a shallow oval blue and I cannot wait to get it planted
It will be a lot more work keeping it watered but worth it imo

I can't ever recall my azalea leaves having this much color change. The pics don't do it justice. I'll have to try and get a better pic with natural light of the entire tree.
