Trying to clean up my yard and I thought that this was a sucker growing right aside one of my dogwood trees. I just really don't know as it doesn't look like a dogwood. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Some kind of popel. When you kill it make sure to apply stump killer.

I agree it's some sort of polar. I my self have been doing work with cottonwoods and enjoy them a lot.

I see a lot of oriental bittersweet around here lately. The leaf shape goes from private-like to those roundish shaped leaves. Big time pest plant.

Leaves seem more like cherry or maybe plum. Is not aspen leaf more round and branches more gray:confused:? Also believe poplar and cottonwood leaves have shorter stems.

Outright. It's the only way to keep them from taking over the yard. It isn't bonsai material it's just crap.
It's a damn popel tree. They can be made into pallets but that's about it.
Kill it now before it gets too big. Pull it out, pour gas on it and light it up.

I already pulled it up and potted it. Me potting it alone will seal its fate!
I think better kill it then, to lower it's suffering. :D wuhahah. Naa, I think it will become the most beautiful bonsai in it's kind (and the only one).
