2021 National Bonsai Exhibition - Sept 11-12

or old boomer douches

are you mentally challenged ? Where in my posts am i complaining about the great job Bill has been doing with bonsai over the last 50 years?!!? Where have from what I have said am i implying that? "I think its lame he doesn't let people market his shows for free." is about all I have said. You forget to take your pills today?
I was referring to you… as the turd. “Boomer” on behalf of some of my generation I apologize. You appear to be of the “gimme everything for free” w no work put in half. The rest of us younger people here including myself respect others here , learn , apprentice , work for people my parents age that have been doing bonsai before I was a sperm… so please show some respect here or leave we’re trying to build / continue the legacy many in the bonsai community including folks in this forum have built for us. You pollute this thread and make it about yourself, stop being selfish ,step up be a man or gtfo. We don’t need people like you, in here, you must be hurting , I hope you can work on yourself.

"gimme everything for free" ? How clueless you really are, ive been working while you were in diapers suckling your mothers teat. I would love to show you how to be a man
Lol well by your age I thought you would be more mature , and already have the portfolio to back yourself up. You’re a sad little man.

if it is a losing endeavor, as someone mentioned (financially)
then perhaps something needs to change (an old lesson my dad taught me when i was trying
to learn how to elevate the puck with a slap shot -if it isnt working, try something different)

i am indifferent to the rules,
but if he is losing money, he might look to open up a bit with regulations
from a marketing point of view, optics ;)

one thing i learned in business school is that even bad press is good press.
for instance, it couldnt hurt to have a bunch of people take amateur photos and then
post them a bunch of places online mentioning where they were taken (free marketing)
the photo thing seems to limit the above notion. perhaps more recognition and photojournalism
could be the competitive advantage needed to break even or profit!

food for thought

just talking business since i heard its insolvent. sometimes things work in opposite ways.
dont make enough money by limiting photos to a proprietary album = losing $,
change something, let everyones photos work for you! $$ and maybe more people will hear of the event, look it up, and book!

another tough part about it is the fact that people obviously do take photos there regardless, which can ruffle things
when they only apply to some

imagine how many people on instagram with #nationalshowexample next to their photos would be seen
out there?
Seriously it’s free marketing for the show

You think its lame he doesn't let you take photos of the show, which upsets you A LOT for some reason. Hell, you didn't even attend, but you've posted here continually about it and complained and complained and complained--not to mention calling people names, insult them, and lamely threaten them along the way. That says quite a bit about you. You've said you'd "talk to Bill" when you see him at the show in Kannapolis. Do that. Before you do, take your adderall...and yeah, I've been mentally challenged for quite some time. Ask around.

That the show was sold out and has been for most every previous one too, kiiiiiinda tells me Bill knows his market better than you. He has all the "marketing" he needs. The show venue he uses is pretty large. The next "step up" to a larger venue is probable one that is prohibitive for him. Larger isn't necessarily better.

Not sure Rochester has a larger venue in town so it would have to be somewhere else which would make organizing it even more difficult since Bill lives in/near Rochester

NO, no, a thousand times NO. Bill is not losing money at the show or elsewhere. He is a fine businessman who is covering all the bases. I have no insider knowledge, but I can see from a distance that he is doing all the right things. One of the things has has particular expertise in is publishing bonsai books with lots of pictures. His magazine was published for 20 or 30 years and he was the editor. That's his forte! Bonsai picture books. It will be a cold day in Hell when Bill, who is a consummate promoter, needs outside help. Anyone who can do it better is free to put their ass on the line and do it in their choice of venues.
