You're right, I was confusing the Monto clay process, but "hard" not fired was my intention.
I agree with the Boon mix actually, though that is far from what you read in my comments.
I have to exclaim reliability and trust has caused me to look for and choose a replacement.

When I waste $$ on "High Quality two line Akadama" from a highly reputable dealer/importer
that I trust completely otherwise, and highly recommend, then it forces my hand since they
refused to make it right.

I do not dispute akadama being superior when processed and stored correctly.
Just stating that my trust is broken, why, and what I did about it.
The day will come when I try my hand at it again.
