Well, looks like cones to me. And overall, I see lots of bright green tips, which is a very good sign. Others with more Sekka experience might chime in, but at this point, it doesn’t look fungal to me.

Looks pretty healthy to me. Could be pollen cones.

Fall work on a “Kegon” Satsuki. Before: After Also, I highly recommend Rick Garcia’s book on Azaleas. Been a game changer for me.

I believe it’s called “Wells Select” or “Wells Special”. I can’t quite remember.

Took some Hinoki & Sekka cuttings 😁 I’ve had luck with fall cuttings in the past. We’ll see how these do 🙏🏼

I cleaned up and put a little wire on this hinoki. Before: After:

Hornbeam died. The juniper is in the ground, recovering from some sort of disease. But the pine is coming along nicely.

One of the trees died, but I think it was a blessing in disguise:) Will cut candles a re-wire this year. Excited to see it this fall.

I would kill that tree if it was in my collection, no doubt 🤣. As for mine, your feedback is spot on. I need to get the rootball flatter…which I hope to do over time, as @Paradox mentioned.

Repotted the hinoki yesterday. Was still digging out dirt/soil from 5 years ago. It was a rather aggressive repot, fingers crossed it responds well. 🤞
