Update time
This one took a break in the heat reccord breaking temps but i expect one more growth spurt to come temps going down alittle and rain has come!

I wired the shoot that will become the first branch up to trick the tree and let the apical dominance help to thicken that branch faster then others ( not sure this realy works but i am trying lol)

Also wired one shoot to the front of the tree to do a thread graft with next spring to get the missing back branch exactly were i need it.

Nice. Didn't know you could trick a tree like that. Leaned something new again today :)

Good idea for the back branch.

But I think that the first branch will be difficult to catch up with the girth of the second one. If you have cuttings (they develop fast when planted in the ground), maybe another approach graft with a thicker one?...

The trick will work. Skip shortening the erected branch a few times and it will get big soon enough. In development phase a slightly bigger pot will speed things up. Hate the erected screw on the top of the fence...

Yup. Normal way to get a specific brack to think it is important. Wire it up.

You saw that one too right. Keep thinking.. Why would you leav that there!

Thnx!
Larger pot for next year check.
The screw heuhhh yeah it got to go !

Repotted this into something a little bigger in spring
Screw is gone too!
Guess it needs a small trim here and there.
I think in 3 more seasons the first branch will have caught up in size

This is how the tree looks like now
Beside repotting I didn't do anything else this year

Update on this little one!
First branch is catching up realy well, some buds at the beginning of the branch also have popped so I'll wait just a little till they've grown out some to prune it back to get the movement and taper in there as well!
I've also cut out a disturbing thick branch in the top so now it's allowed to grow and fill in again then prune and repeat!

on a side note, i did prune the roots and removed the crossing ones and spread them the right direction in the pot after i took the pictures.
